Message: Are the fees we're paying reasonable?

I'd be interested to know if the $2.4M retainer over 9 months being paid to the new layers TPL hired is considered reasonable for IP litigation work. That's $267K per month. At $700/hr average, that buys us 3429 man hours of time spread over 9 months.

This is a sincere question, as I have no idea if this seems reasonable from a cost or manpower perspective. Any lawyers care to comment?

Also, over the last 8 quarters, the MMP has brought in $15.48M. To earn that, PDS has had to spend $15.33M plus $800K of the $2.4M retainer.

Again, I'm sincerely wondering if it's reasonable to spend $8.15M per year in the licensing/prosecution effort? Anyone have any knowledge/experience with respect to this?

I just hope our team is ULTIMATELY in it for the KILL and not just the VERY LUCRATIVE, THRILL OF THE HUNT!

Considering the Apples, GEs, Motorolas, TYCOs, and 6 other unknown and possibly LARGE companies licensed for part of that $15.48M, you'd expect that to fight the T3 to the extent we are, and for them to fight back as they are, when they probably could've settled for less than $10M each, means that we're looking for $50M per company mininumn in settlements/license fees. I hope we have the stomach to pursue it, and our side isn't content to continue to satisfy only themselves.
