Crossflo and Memex Announce Teaming Plan to Provide Information Sharing and Analysis
SAN DIEGO -- Crossflo Systems, Inc. and Memex, Inc. announced today their intent to jointly pursue opportunities to provide information sharing and analysis capabilities to law enforcement and homeland security agencies.
The two companies completed work in November on the Regional Information Sharing and Analysis (RISA) project that enables the Unified Port of San Diego, Los Angeles Port Police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff to share data with the San Diego Harbor Police Department (HPD). The RISA project represents the most comprehensive regional data integration and analysis initiative to date and is setting the standard for the way maritime and law enforcement information is shared across jurisdictions.
"Crossflo and Memex have provided a crucial contribution to port security by deploying a secure and scalable system of information sharing and analysis among law enforcement, first responders and other homeland security agencies," said Betty Kelepecz, chief of police for San Diego Harbor Police at the time of installation.
RISA was partially underwritten by the San Diego-based Center for the Commercialization of Advanced Technologies (CCAT), a federally funded agency that supports selected Homeland Security technology initiatives. RISA is the first project to deploy a regional, interagency data-sharing program using the recently mandated Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) standard. Crossflo selected Memex to provide a powerful intelligence system to record and analyze data that was accessed from a variety of sources. The project was completed in less than 90 days
