And another N-DEx presentation:
I4: Law Enforcement National Data Exchange (N-DEx): Connecting the Dots
9:00 am – 10:00 am, Hanover C
Information sharing has become a mission critical component of today’s public safety mandate for local, county, state, tribal and federal agencies to enhance crime fighting efforts. The FBI’s Law Enforcement National Data Exchange (N-DEx) is a powerful new investigative tool that allows law enforcement agencies to submit and query incident data to make connections between persons, places, events, and crime characteristics. N-DEx links information from jurisdictions across the nation, allowing officers to ‘connect the dots’ between data that is not apparently related. N-DEx now stands next to NCIC, IAFIS, and the other FBI systems as an important component of the national law enforcement information sharing infrastructure. The IACP, in partnership with the FBI’s CJIS Division, is delivering a communications and educational outreach program to promote awareness and use of N-DEx.
