The Director of the USPTO solicited input from folks regarding USPTO processes, process improvements, etc. This email is in response to the Director's solicitation.

You say:

"The USPTO has to be indpended and should not be screwed by share holders of any company!" (though I suspect you meant to say "skewed" and not "screwed")

Now consider what is going on here. The Director solicited input. Who do you suspect will respond to that solicitation? People with no vested interest in anything going on at the USPTO? People who are happy with the performance of the USPTO? Or people experiencing difficulties in getting the proposed patents filed or getting their patents re-examined? I strongly suspect the latter will be the folks that respond to his solicitation, and that those are precisely the folks targetted by the Director in his solicitation.

With this in mind, I see nothing wrong with attempting to draw the Director's attention to our (ridiculous) situation. Further, I suspect that nearly all those who respond to his solicitation will be identifying their patent applications/patents in re-exam, and a brief "story" of their experience/disappointment regarding the failings of the USPTO.

Bottom line: this email to the Director cannot hurt, and might just help.
