It's not about right or wrong. It is about being pragmatic. It is about applying pressure. Turning up the heat on the board is a less expensive and less time costing route of action. The question becomes how can we turn up the heat? Anyone have any ideas? Also IMO, those ideas would be best PM'ed rather than posted here where board members can see and figure out ways to throw cold water on what ever might "melt" them. Just an allusion to the "Wizard of Oz", LOL.
