According to Louise L. Hay cancer is about:

deep hurt and long standing resentment. ( Maybe towards DL ?)

a deep secret or grief eating away at the self. ( Why did I sign that contract?)

carring hatred ("Damn you to hell").

also the idea of " What's the use?" ( So has he given up? or had he? Now that the cancer was cut out is he over all the above?)

hands are also about clutching, grasping and letting go and handling many experiences ( is he holding on or has he let go or is it a back and forth thing?)

His statement and condition seem to fit the physical manifestations of his emotions and spirit. Just my observations from my perspective.

I wonder what is happening to some of the other characters in this Saga. How is DL's health anyway?

IMO damning someone to hell isn't exactly the best karma. It will be interesting to see what happens.
