I've always found it best to read a post in its entirety, paying particular attention to detail, before making a comment.

For example, it is appreciated how one might look at the time of the post, 1.13pm for the original and 1.30pm for my reply, and conclude that it was addressed immediately. However, a closer examination shows that they were posted on different days. A simple mistake to make?
