I think that corporations, having intranets and extranets connecting their many operations, do not seem to require the disparate data sharing solution that CDX provides. I assume you are keying in on the secure data transfer portion of the CDX solution, and as such it could have some application. I am leery of this because the enterprises I have worked with seem to have their intranets and extranets pretty well controlled.
If the idea is to expand on or compliment the extranet for outside access to an enterprise's internal documents, thereby providing secure transfer of data between the enterprise and an outside firm while never giving up the actual data, this might be where CDX comes into play. I think this is where you are going with this, but your confirmation or rejection of my assumption is welcomed.
