Being alittle more serious... Seems that if I`m understanding the situation correctly, PTSC and Moore/TPL are somewhat compelled to settle before 6/10, or they may be facing a PO`d Judge next Friday. That`s in nobody`s best interest. PTSC is further compelled by their possible lack of effective representation in court at this point. Moore and (more specifically) TPL are compelled due to the result of other (similar to a degree) litigation where they apparently failed miserably and need some quick cash (not to mention that that other litigation has definitely tarnished their reputation and suggests possible ill-doings in this instant situation which, though it may not be considered as ``evidence`` in this case, one would think it would raise some eyebrows). And if TPL is hurting for cash, how do they pay for continued litigation (unless 100% contingency)?

That being said, it suggests a settlement here may be iminent. PTSC apparently has 80M shares/bargaining chips and AMD. TPL has Intel and the demonstrated ability to be a pain in the arse. A ``partnering`` or Teaming Agreement looks to me (in admitted ignorance to all the facts) like the best way out, with PTSC IMO having the upper hand. But the mere fact that PTSC has those shares on the sidelines suggests a possible deal where TPL gets an equity interest in PTSC in exchange for releasing all interests and ending all litigation. Either way, PTSC should be the winner. And either way, PTSC can pursue other infringers (since claims are somewhat validated by the licensing actions by both the big boys, AMD and Intel), with or without TPL in tow.

So this prompts the question as to whether they`ll wait till the 11th hour or wrap things upper sooner than the morning of the 10th.

And, putting this in a different perspective, if a settlement is not achieved, both PTSC and TPL will each be in their own world of hurt IMO.

Other opinions solicited....

Cuz I KNOW nuttin`!
