The good news about this reexam merge is that the first one began in March 2008, 18 months ago. With any luck, USPTO is well underway with it. Another thing I believe that may be to our advantage is the 749 includes all the individual patents rolled into one. It likely will make more sense to the examiner. I wonder if all the updates and revisions that were made in the individual patents will need to be changed during this reexam?

With regards to the Infineon rumor. This would be a chip manufacturer license. It almost appears the language we are reading describes in detail the lack of support Infineon would provide to any down stream manufacturers? Infineon at one time was owned by Siemens, another likely future licensee from Germany.
