Message: Re: (From Ron on Yahoo) Why the BoD is criticized after "good news"....

I can only speak for myself, of course, but I want a BoD that is dynamic, savvy,
and creative enough to dig their way OUT of problems that are holding back
returning value to the shareholders, as opposed to a BoD that is satisfied with
the status quo and continues to repeat strategies that should have been seen as
failures three years ago

I just wonder how, for example, Eric Schmidt, Steve Ballmer, and John T Chambers would have DUG their way out of the USPTO re-examinations, which have been the greatest problem facing the BoD? Perhaps no amount of digging would expedite matters and they too would have to await the decisions?

The only strategy that comes to mind is the "umbrella plan" and as income has become available, this appears to have been instigated by Goerner. PDSG a failure? I hope not. How will digging speed up the implementation of local, state, and national policies/spending?

.

Despite rhetoric and minutiae about "executive" versus "non-executive" board
members taken from such (non)venerable sources as Wikipedia (groan), the fact
of the matter in PTSC's case is that, by the Company's own announcements, ours
is a "working Board".

Now just why were extracts taken from Wikipedia? I remember. In order to give a general overview of the differences between executive and non-executive directors without becoming overly technical. The cited references at the end of each article are always there for those who want to dig deeper.

Obviously, ours is a "working Board", have you read the Audit Committee remit? It's no longer about a round of golf and drinks at the office 4 times a year.

.

Hopefully, with the re-cert of the '336, we will see a new, or at least
improved, strategy moving forward that will start a rise in our stock price
.

Why do I read this as being a tacit acknowledgement that the re-examinations have impacted on the board's ability to improve the stock price contrary to it being " The
neverending excuses about everything being "beyond our control" or "not our
fault" ring(ing) hollow after 3+ years --- these BoD members are paid to increase
shareholder value, and if they cannot, they need to leave and be replaced by
others who are competent to get the task done."?

.

.

Be well
