I just took a trip through North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas; and all the interstate rest stops seemed to be open, especially the boarder visitor facilities. The rest stop closings you refer to do not seem to be nationwide. And I always thought that deep South was the poorest part of the nation....
