SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2000

Patriot Scientific Corp. (OTCBB:PTSC), today announced that Judge Janis Sammartino of the Superior Court of San Diego County, California confirmed her previous ruling on certain counts related to the case against Patriot, Nanotronics, and Gloria H. Felcyn, as trustee of the Helmut Falk Family Trust brought by Janet Long Fish, as Trustee of the Fish Family Trust.

The Fish Family Trust, an assignee of a co-inventor of the original ShBoom technology on which Patriot's PSC1000 microprocessor is based, sought a judgement for damages, a rescission of the technology transfer agreement by which Nanotronics obtained the technology and a restoration of the technology to the Fish Family Trust. These claims by the Fish Family Trust were rejected by the court.

The ruling was a vindication for Patriot, Nanotronics and Gloria Felcyn as it related to potential royalty liabilities and ownership of the ShBoom technology. The Judge did rule that another issue, the defendants failure to timely issue shares of Patriot's common stock to the Fish Family Trust as a result of the Fish Family Trust's ownership in Nanotronics, may have merit and could potentially go to trial if the parties do not settle this last remaining item.

Jim Lunney, Patriot's chairman, president and chief executive officer stated, &uot;Although the order is subject to the appeal process and one item is unresolved, the totality of the Judge's ruling has led us to believe that any attempt to appeal would not be successful. The Judge's confirmation of her previous decision lifts any cloud of doubt over our ownership of all patents related to the ShBoom technology.&uot;

Lunney went on to say, &uot;This will enable us to pursue all potential licensing deals without any contingencies related to lawsuits. As I have stated before we can now accelerate our focus on commercialization of the Java-specific PSC1000 microprocessor by raising the profile of the company and its products through an extensive marketing launch.&uot;

&uot;Moreover,&uot; the CEO previously stated, &uot;we intend to enhance the chip's continued leadership by regularly improving its performance and cost characteristics, as well as continually adding to its growing portfolio of compatible development tools and application software.&uot;

Founded in 1987, Patriot Scientific Corp. designs, markets and manufactures the PSC1000, based on patented ShBoom technology, a 32-bit microprocessor targeted at Java and Internet appliances as well as the traditional embedded systems markets.
