We've been down this road before.... While the question should perhaps be asked, I strongly suspect that costs associated with defending each portfolio are isolated to the degree possible/practical. These people are very familiar with isolating costs for one bit of litigation effort versus another. That is unless all the members of our legal team were flunkies and never handled more than one case at a time, twittling their thumbs when awaiting court action or action by the adversaries. It's common practice, just like in many industries (anything involving government contracting, construction, accounting, etc., etc.). It can be done as simply as using a time card and associated accounting practices (probably available via Quicken).

Now is this discussion again going to deteriorate down to arguing over who should pay more for the power bill?

I'm sorry, but it does amaze me that some suspect our legal team is incredibly inexperienced, inept, and down right stupid. "Fraud" is a scary word, and I'm sure they never want to hear it.
