You question why I think there is still some delay even with a positive reexam,,,as you posted
I would think that this would happen only if they think that they don't infringe
and again
Again the only reasons would be if they don't infringe or if they are being asked to pay too much
It's exactly what they are claiming... NON-INFRINGEMENT
from the Q...
The Asustek case seeks declaratory relief that its products do not infringe enforceable claims of the '336, '584 and '749 patents. The Asustek case also seeks a similar declaration with respect to two patents owned by TPL that are not a part of the MMP Portfolio, and as such we are not engaged in this aspect of the litigation and defense. The Acer case seeks declaratory relief that its products do not infringe enforceable claims of the '336, '584 and '749 patents. The HTC case similarly seeks declaratory relief that its products do not infringe enforceable claims of those three patents and the '148 patent.
As for your last comment...the 'months and years" comment was taken by me...maybe erroneously...as the time frame for collection of major license fees....not just the time involved with getting the reexams back to us in a positive manner...and since the T-3 is claiming non-infringement I still see a court delay as a possibility..I hope not ...but it is out there to be considered..and I still believe that is why RG moved early into his M&A actions.
As far a PPS recovery,...like I've said many times we will get a bounce from the reexams...mostly I believe from people right here reading this board who see it as a positive outcome...which it is...so I see that bounce coming form long time holders that we have here buying more shares. The real test will be is will we HOLD any PPS bounce we get after a lot of us here might start buying again driving the price up. If no new licenses with major dollars attached show up rght after the reexams are done...the rest of the investing world will hold off waiting for at least...IMO...2-3 more quarters of good EPS increases
It will be and always will be..the earnings... that drive our price back to respectable levels. JMHO
