Covario, Inc. (formerly SEMDirector, Inc.), the leader in interactive marketing analytics, today announced the expansion of its executive management team with the addition of four senior members in an effort to support rapid growth. Covario has added: Matthias Blume, chief science officer; Steve Lagotta, VP of finance; Steve Beal, VP of development; and promoted the company’s top sales director, Suzy Fig, to the role of regional VP. “Performance measurement is critical for large advertisers and this is why our company is growing despite the weakening economy,” said Russ Mann, chief executive officer at Covario. “The diverse expertise that these executives bring from all angles of the business will augment our current processes and delivery mechanisms, enabling Covario to provide more advanced, innovative solutions to our large advertiser clients.” Previously a principal scientist at Fair Isaac Corporation, Dr. Matthias Blume joins Covario as chief science officer to help the company’s large advertiser clients better manage cross-media optimization by driving automated decision management technologies within Covario’s flagship offering, Covario Marketing Action Platform. Prior to Fair Isaac, Blume also held leadership positions at Reticular Systems, MESCO Engineering and Rockwell Science Center. Blume earned his doctorate in electrical and computer engineering at the University of California, San Diego. Steve Lagotta, Covario’s new VP of finance, joins from Time Warner Cable, where he was a controller for the San Diego division, which generated over $500 million in revenue. Lagotta led several successful mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition and integration of Adelphia Communications with Time Warner Cable. Lagotta also led the acquisition of three telecom companies while he was VP of finance and controller at Radyne ComStream. Previously, Lagotta held executive positions at Newgen Results Corporation, Thompson-Rose Consulting and SSL Consulting. Joining Covario from Hewlett-Packard is Steve Beal as the new VP of development. Beal is an established thought leader in Web analytics and Software as a Service (SaaS) technology with more than two decades of product development expertise. As R&D section manager at Hewlett-Packard, Beal led multi-national development teams in Shanghai, Paris and Amsterdam and oversaw the development of enterprise-scale IT service and asset management solutions. As a senior software architect for Keylime Software (now a division of Yahoo!), Beal designed and documented Echoes, a near real-time distributed system that enables Graphical User Interface (GUI) feature access control and tracking for any Win32 User Interface, as well as select server side portions of the LimeLight e-business analytics system. Covario also announced the promotion of Suzy Fig, the company’s top grossing sales director, to regional vice president. During her tenure at Covario, Fig brokered relationships with some of the largest advertisers and global organizations to build the Covario customer portfolio. Suzy’s new responsibilities as regional VP include building a high performance team to drive Covario’s revenue generation efforts and providing new solutions for the unique online marketing challenges of Covario clients.
