A number of studies have found that group forecasts are better than individual forecasts. The group's averages of all the forecasts turn out to be reasonably accurate. Somehow this works surprisingly well, especially when the individuals are somewhat knowledgeable on the subject.

So, if enough of us would like to have this group’s forecasts gathered and summarized I’d be glad to do it when I get back from Alaska on the 30th.

The forecast questions will concern things like: Month of this years for highest SP, Month of lowest SP, Highest SP this year, Lowest SP this year, Biggest trading volume month. Ditto for next years numbers.

Please wait to start your forecasting until I get back from Alaska and we see there are at least 30 interested posters. The 30 number is a statistical minimum.

I propose that those that want to participate will communicate directly with me using our boards “Private Message” (PM) feature. By not communicating your forecasts on the public board I hope to avoid influencing others before they make forecasts.

We can decide if the summary and averages of your forecasts should get posted publically or communicated privately to only those participating.

If we get at least 30 “recommends” on this posting I’ll send notice on July 30th that we are go for collecting your forecasts. I’ll send details at that time. Hit the recommend icon if you want to participate.
