I've cleansed my mind of any thoughts pertaining to an S/P pop if the news is positive. Fundamentally speaking it appears the repercussions of the settlement are real. I have a hard time believing licensing activity hit a lull all at once and very shortly after the Q numbers were revealed. It wasn't long ago that many on this board believed the continued licensing activity indictated how those companies felt about our patents and the probable outcome of the USPTO. I believed the same thing but now I'm not so sure.
I'm sure TPL wants to continue negotiating in good faith. I don't believe their holding a gun to peoples heads telling them to wait a few more weeks and your toast. Considering how licenses have been handled up to this point, I think it's safe to assume they are very willing to negotiate fees. It's pretty obvious from our SEC filings that Alliacense isn't gouging anyone. The reality is we've seen some fairly large licenses sprinkled amongst the smaller one's. So the question is, what changed? 40 + companies saw it our way up this point and now no one see's fit to sign? The only tangible piece of evidence appears to be the J3 settlement. The companies that licensed after the "J" settlement certainly had no idea what the J's settled for. The same goes for the licenses that were announced in April after the Q. I'm sure those deals had been signed and sealed well before the December numbers were revealed. The more I watch our price it just makes me think there's something else to this story. We still have healthy cash reserves and a licensing program, we think. So is there something negative going on or is this truly manipulation? Everytime I own a stock that starts declining most investors start screaming, "MANIPULATION", when in reality it's simply poor company/stock performance. I know there's no time line for when a company will step up and license but, whatever has occurred certainly has broken from what most of us considered to be the norm. I would also add that a feeling of "normal" came directly from Alliacense repeatedly stating in their PR's that more and more companies were making contact. I'm still waiting, wondering and hoping.
