The Red Wings have always been my favorite hockey team. Born and raised in Detroit, I lived on the same street as Sid Abel. If you don't know who Sid was, just check it out. I was a "little kid" when Sid used to walk down the street from the corner bus stop (athletes didn't make big bucks in those days) and usually stop to toss a baseball or two to us kids playing ball in the street. He was a really nice guy!
