After reading up on definition, I think my understanding of 'divisional patents' was erroneous. While there is a connection to the original patent application, there may not necessarily be any reliance on it. That is probably what the USPTO is verifying - that all the divisional patents are indeed stand alone, as they should be. All IMHO Opty
