They didn't have to pull the hard copy files to do this. All (at least the '336 - and presumeably all since they were originally processed in a similar time frame) are available in PALM - the PTO data system where everything, every piece of paper/pictures/any images, have been scanned in. It's all there. "IFW" Image File Wrapper.

As for claim changes/mods/additions, the new re-exam Cert would specify all of this. The Cert "renews" the patent, though possibly modified (but doesn't extend the life of the patent, as I understand it). To clarify, they don't literally go back and change retroactively the original patent application and all, they essentially replace it with the "new, improved" version. You never go back and change anything that is public record (unless you're a politician!), you modify/amend/revise and slap a fresh date on it, and proclaim "now use this one".

Hope this helps.

And yes, I've delved more into the PTO process because I see it as the most important issue on the table. And IMO, that's a tough view to argue. If the patents die, we die, IMO. Plus there may just be some fruit on the table awaiting us when the re-exams are successfully completed. I like fruit. I want fruit. I must have fruit! LOL

Thank you for considering that conjecture though - keep it coming. Please! As always, I'm using you folks to test my thoughts, theories, conjecture. No feedback, no criticism, no conflicts with some pesky FACTS, then there is no test! Makes me testy. (I could go on with this theme, but it would be in poor taste! LOL).
