``In Nov of 2004, we filed a patent describing the method and apparatus for the wireless radio frequency charging of wireless devices. We expect to license this technology and/or develop products to serve the commercial, industrial and consumer markets. This technology will enable the ``un-tethering`` of otherwise wireless devices which could service a large and horizontal market. If allowed, claims in this patent application will provide broad coverage to Patriot and its future licensees.``
IMHO, the potential market is huge. Eliminating the necessity of battling over who gets the few connections typically available in any conference room with many meeting attendees and their laptops. No need for hook-ups anymore or worry about running out of power at meetings or at coffee shops, airports, etc. IF granted, this will be a sure-fire hit. Potentially, you could tie in the IGNITE chip with the remote charging application, too.
The spinoffs and/or others applications are immense..Excellent creative thinking. This would provide a nice complement to the ring-clock potential license as well. The mind wanders....
