Though I got disappointed by yesterday's filing, I was kind of expecting this Q3 result with 20% of my mind (the 80% were a mixture of hope and tired of waiting), and maybe that's the reason, why I try to calm down and analyze the situation and the FACTS, that I KNOW:
- Fujitsu, Nokia, Philips settled for two-digit millions (and some others did, too)
- the MMP so far has generated about $250mio license fees
- the T3 started a litigation because they refuse to pay either a license fee, which has increased in the 14 months time of their talks with Alliacense or refuse to pay ongoing royalties over a given period
- as Ease2002 pointed out yesterday, lawyer's cost alone were about $17mio
Just these four points tell me, it's not realistic to assume the J3 came away with nuisance fees only.
There are a lot of thoughts I'd like to add regarding the chance of re-defining the discussion culture of this board because of the current situation, but am to tired now and might try to write this down in the next days.
BTW, we made some millions net profit last quarter...did anyone notice...;-)?
Take care - good night!
