When you hold a stock in a company and it gets bought out by another company what do you base your cost of the stock at. I had a stock that was bought by AKAM BACK IN 2000. My stock was selling at 139 dollars the day it converted to AKAMA Shares which were selling for 228dollars on that date. i GOT .59 SHARES OF akam FOR EVER SHARE OF intrvu  and then it went into the tank all the down below a buck I held till AKAM went back to 46 and then I sold. Is 139 my cost or is it 228.   Need help
