AMO licenses microprocessor technology in United States, abroad

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Advanced Medical Optics has purchased a Moore Microprocessor Patent Portfolio license from the TPL Group, according to a press release from Patriot Scientific, TPL's licensing partner.

The Moore Microprocessor Patent Portfolio, which is jointly owned by TPL Group and Patriot Scientific, contains seven U.S. patents and their corresponding exclusive rights in Europe and Japan, the release said.

The patents included under the portfolio protect proprietary technologies used for designing microprocessors, microcontrollers, digital signal processors, embedded processors and system-on-chip devices.

Currently, more than 40 companies have licensed the patent portfolio technologies, the release said.
