As many of you know I have been under the weather for over a year now and have not spent a great amount of time watching over my investments which obviously includes Patriot.  Every now and then I read this board to see what Ron, ease, ads, kidd, bush, Edigokie, wolf, huntington, banoss, sge etc etc are saying as well as some newer folks(I sure do miss Rash...).

However, I have often wondered why I still own shares in Patriot, after all I was fortunate over the years to have taken profits during our two major run ups and God knows my blood pressure does not need the boost it gets when I read "good news" and see a decline in share price. However just this morning as I was reviewing some of the recent post on the board one of the answers to why I am still invested hit me.  

I still own this stock (besides the desire to make money) is that I love a good mystery!  Over the past ten years Patriot has given me more highs and lows, twists and turns then the Belmont roller coaster (here in San Diego).  Just when I think I have it figured out a new twist is thrown into the plot (ptsc/tpl suit for outright control - joint control with tpl controling, patent reviews, Arm getting involved, were going to court in Ca no thats Texas, we settle for how much nobody is talking but board members would "trade", shares go down, Swartz is in swartz is out so many times he actually makes the mm's look like investors instead of the traders they are, DP resigns, shares go down as sales go up etc etc etc etc.....).

For great fiction writing the imagination of so many of the posters on this board is awesome (and of course there is rb for comic relief which I have not visited for years) and of course we have some truly classic non fiction writing by Ron and his assistants which gives a lie to the notion that attorneys can't tell the truth and the great analysis by Brian which I sorely miss.

 So although I have been spending a great amount of time over the past year reading books I probably get as much enjoyment out of reading some of the talent on this board and the watching the shennigans of the folks running our corporation.
