To drill down further, it all comes down the secondary clock operational manner - Asynch vs. Synchronous.

The clocking as described in the original 749 patent is different from the 336. I believe the 890 patent inserts the 336 operation.

I also believe the 890 and the 336 patents were filed at the same time by Higgins.
