Agreed that some might have been waiting til after the first to take profits thus delaying their need to pay taxes until 4/15/2009.  It also appears a whole lot of fudsters have kicked it into high gear to start the year.   Kinda sad the way this forum has gone lately with so many positive things happening over the past year.
