There is an issue in our agreement that would need to be explained to certain remaining infringers. No where is a "License" mentioned in our "settlement".
The J's were "granted certain rights" to the MMP Portfolio. This would indicate a temporary obligation dependent upon certain conditions or criteria being met. But it is different wording and it is there for a reason. What that reason is, is pure speculation. But, IMO would have to be explained to potential licensees.
I think the future looks bright and I am certain there are reasons for all the confusion as of late. The dollar amounts, I can see why they would not immediately devulge the dollar amounts,but I don't see how then can keep the various details of the settlement (such as "Granting") secret and expect other signings.
