"Name calling" is a distinctly american english phrase imo.  When you are in grade school you listen to teachers and parents talk about "name calling".  I don't believe most foreigners who are not well versed in english would use the phrase "name calling".  The first sentence sounds to me like they are rehearsing a bad foreign accent (not going to name the region I think the poster, who IS American, thinks they are immitating in their mind)....ease
