While you may be right about a short extension, I believe that would have to fall from a joint motion. I would hope that our team would just cop the attitude "enough already" and, having fully cooperated with the court and with the defendants, just take the next bold step (MSJ).
Keep in mind that we did cooperate with the Js in filing the joint motion for the stay. We didn't have to do that. That action was prompted by something (ACP decision?). We probably could have just filed the MSJ instead. But we stayed in the good graces of the court and remained civil with the Js.
They've had 30 days to work the numbers. The numbers don't even really have to be based on anything beyond "gut feel". If they are still at empasse, I don't see how a few more days of yelling at eachother will change anything. It'll be time for the next chess move, IMO.
