If the timing on jury duty is bad, just go in with a copy of "The Citizen's Handbook" where it can be seen sticking out of your pocket. It describes what your constitutional rights as a juror are and makes no allowances for the court "instructions" to the jury. It also describes jury nullification. If you have this with you, you will not be selected.
Also, just give honest answers when you're being questioned. I was asked if I believed in early release and I said "NO......in fact I am so opposed to it that I think that if a judge gives a criminal early release and the criminal then commits another crime, the judge should have to remain behind bars for the rest of the time left on that sentence." I was not selected.
