The reason this may have occured was that the Japanese companies warned their friends or if they are competitors TAEC realized that J3 will settle unless the terms are  harsh.

TPL wants too get their rightful share from infringers but they do not want too offend or destroy their adversary. Your sentiment would not be appreciated by our friends.
