If indeed the settlement numbers are in the range of $250M to $500M or more as some are suggesting, it would be interesting to take a peek at what that might mean to the share price. For starters, on a cash basis alone, PTSC with $20M in the bank, actually $13M when you take into account the reserved tax liability, was considered by the market to be worth approximately $156M ($.40/share at 391M shrs). So essentially, it was worth 12 x the cash value. If PTSC/TPL get say $300M combined settlement, and each net say $140M after expenses, and alotting about $46M for taxes, at the same 12x mutliple to cash, that could put PTSC's share price value at $106.8 x 12 = $3.27/shr. In the irrational exuberance of trading in that scenario, I suppose a $5 level or higher could be reached temporarily.
