It's just my guess but I think that TPL is looking for quite a bit of money frpom the J's 

TPL need a watershed victory otherwise teh next 3-5 years is just 1-3 million nusance fees.

Philips on the other hand realizes that regardless of whether PTSC wins or loses in E Tx,

as long as the patents are not invalidated TPL can still come after them

Did they pay 50 mm or 3 mm or 20mm ???

The mere fact that they signed is not as importnat as the amount that they 

paid.  >20mm is meaningful <20mm is not.

Hey vonage just paid 115 million to Verizon and 65 million to sprint and they don;t 

have or make any money.  

So what the hjeck is 20mm to Phillips.  a rounding error and it's only 

13million in  Euros even less painful so why fight and risk when ou can cut a check from petty cash
