I have to suspect that MEI had no indemnifiaction clauses (and either threw fate to the wind as far as ARM's designs possibly infringing, or they may have bought actual insurance against any possible infringement)

OR

ARM designs don't infringe

 

It is baffling (ARM and the '336 and '148).....   I can't get past the many references to these patents in ARM's own patent applications.
