I'm answering this because I had the same problem you're having.

I had to click the "edit profile" box, go to the edit page and there is where I found the place where it says click here to enablt e-mails (or something like that.  Put a check mark in that box, go back to the profile page and you will be in business.

You won't see the e-mail contact box on your own profile (I don't think)  I'll check in a few minutes and let you know if it's working for you.
