Absolutely! And perhaps we should also clearly indicate, in the title line, what the post is about. Then the reader can choose to particiate in the discussion or click to the next message.

When things are slow on the Patriot front, some posters like to 'discuss' sports, fishing, cars etc... I certainly don't mind, even though I have little interest in these things. I usually just click onto the next message. I have a choice. What's wrong with this?

I do, however, have a problem with those who get too personal, mean spirited or hostile. We can share differences of opinion without this. I rather like it when people share different view points about an issue; it's interesting, stimulating and it makes me think.
