what JT has said in his presentation(s).
First, in his last two pitches, JT has stated that there are "300 companies yet to go/put on notice" or words to that effect. This conflicts with the numbers I recalled TPL stating at the AMS. So I looked them up and here they are:
"A significant part of the Alliacense informative slide presentation involved the revelation by Mac Leckrone that approximately 485 companies have been put on written notice that they are likely infringing on one or more patents in the MMP portfolio. Over 300 of those companies have revenues exceeding $1 billion per year, and over 220 of the companies put on notice have responded. Alliacense conducted 265 customer meetings starting in January of 2006 through the time of this presentation. They met with 81 companies, which resulted in 16 licenses being signed in the 22 industry sector licensing categories as of the time of this presentation. The presentation was very well received."
There is a big difference between 300 and 485. Or, if he wants to stick to the 300 number, put in the qualifier (300 $1B Rev. companies).
The other thing was the bit about patent ENFORCEMENT end dates. JT stuck to 2015, and pleaded ignorance on anything beyond that. Wouldn't ya think this is pretty basic info? It seems that research by the clever folks on this board revealed that there is a six year look-back for enforcement after the patents have expired. Hopefully the question on this at ARCH prompted Jim to make a call to Mac and get the right answer for use in future presentations. But it still seems JT should KNOW this, and probably should have asked this kind of question before.
So there's my criticism of JT. And if that's all I've got, then he's doing really well!
And this I KNOW!
