Perhaps I should have added that, regarding that first sentence, though it could be intrepretted this way, it should NOT be interpretted this way (i.e., that they're working that close together or that Toshiba admits infringement). I just find it interesting when professional word-smiths speak in ways that can be so easily mis-interpretted. Saying what they did about Toshiba's infringement and then, in the same sentence, saying essentially TPL and Toshiba did such and such could lead one down an unintended path..... Read it again with this interpretation in mind - it comes across like Toshiba agrees about infringement and wants to assure the court understands their infringement!
"In light of the sweeping scope of infringement of the Moore Microprocessor Patent™ (MMP) Portfolio by Toshiba system products, The TPL Group and Toshiba stipulated to sharpen the focus of the Texas infringement trial by eliminating certain Toshiba ASIC devices, which were thought to add little to the ultimate infringement findings other than complexity and possible confusion."
Now if this had been a joint TPL/Toshiba PR, we'd be golden! LOL
