The link you provided to the above chip in the post I'm responding to has some very pertinent information in sections 3 and 4.  It talks about the fetch feature, ring oscillators, registers etc...(beyond my skills on this)  It looks to me that ARM also offers "instruction sets" that chip makers(Matushita) can use(license) for their own chips.(thus the arm designation after the MN1A7T0200(arm).  This may be why ARM is not infringing on the 336, but may be on the 584 which adresses fetch, instructions etc...

I could be completely off base on this too?
