I'm Asian and I am offended by the abbreviation, not that it matters to anyone else.  You may not consider it a racial slur because it was more of a way to get the basic thought in the subject line, but to some of Asian descent it is.

I highly respect your contributions to this board, unlike me, who just lurks, but can't we just spell out Japan or Janpanese?
