That's the other clincher in this story - there already is a guest worker thing in place, largely to support the harvest of crops.  And we already allow a million Mexicans to immigrate here legally every year.

Yet the Congress, with their thirst for fresh voters, fight over new legislation.  Check out the existing laws first!  Then enforce them, for real.

I've heard there are significant problems there in the Northeast (not nearly as bad as the border states).

And I've experienced what Greeneyes described, only at the Kmart in Santa Maria (big store, lots of employees on duty).  I had a question, not one employee spoke English, y mi Espanol no es bueno.  Twelve years (doce anos) ago!
