Does anyone think it's strange that Pohl talked about a candidate who was an outsider with IB experience and then give the job to JT?

As others have stated, why didn't they explain their position at the SHM and the fact that it probably wasn't the right time for a qualified outsider to step in??? 

Maybe this doesn't bother anyone else but I hope Pohl issues a statement regarding why he/they went in a totally different direction than what was stated at the SHM.  I'd like to be able to believe something they tell us.
