TD- They are Licensing but not admitting to culpability. That's part of the agreemnt and allows the companies who have been notified of likely infringement to save face. Technically they are NOT concluding "they were infringing a valid patent."

We as investors can connect the dots and surmise that "they were infringing a valid patent", but none of the legal teams will own up to actual infringement now or - probably - ever as it would be counter to their client's (or employer's) legal interests.
