I would guess they both have been notified that they are 'candidates' for MMP licensing. Canon probably lost out on 'first mover' status due to Nikon Pentax Olympus... but they all have slightly diff niches (not just cameras). Here is a list of Mistu Cos.. notice Nikon? I was not aware that they were part of the Mitsu family...

Look at all those companies... I personally hope Mitsu must wait to license until after conclusion with the J3Arm... Since they asked PTSC to power their demo eGas station with Cyberonix , then dumped us after... lotsa zeros Mitsu.. (no pun intended)
