I don't mean to speak for Virt, buy I'll toss in a couple of things....

The MMs can more effectively "play" a stock on the OTCBB. They control the bid and ask, they can buy long or short sale to/from their own inventory, they have the resources to do these things to the extreme, legally. And the above doesn't even touch the further advantages they enjoy while we're on the OTCBB (they can do those things in any case).

These "further advantages" I'm not astute enough to address, but I'm sure they are there (e.g., reporting requirements). As for an escape from the MMs, a move to the NASDAQ won't help (98% of securities on that exchange are managed by MMs), nor the AMEX (reportedly 75%). The NYSE may be the only refuge, though even there 2-3% are managed by MMs. So any thoughts of a real escape hinge on fantasy.
