Funny you should bring it up...  For Xmas, I bought a Vodka drinkin' girlfriend and bottle of Kettle One based on inputs from the EDIG board.  It was a switch from Absolute, her past favorite (biased - she's Swedish!). But I've tried Grey Goose and liked it alot....

I'm more a Rum guy - but have a sweet tooth. The young lady (above) and I came up with a drink some 7 years ago that filled the bill.  Baccardi light and Malibu, with a pop of diet cola.  The Malibu takes the bite out the Baccardi, and they go down like soda, and rarely any after-affects. I named it a "Malarkey", because if you order a Malibu-Baccardi-Coke when hammered, it sounds like (a bunch of) malarkey! The name has caught on in the area, and is spreading.  We get alot of tourists (Solvang, and the Chumash Indian Casino, and friggin' Neverland - actually friggin' all three!), and when someone orders that drink, the bartender says "ahh, you want a Malarkey!".
