Doesn't matter if it's one clock controlling 3 CPU's or 3 clocks, each controlling one CPU. The fact of the matter is that the clock is CLEARLY incorporated into the CPU core design, which I believe is the crux of the question. I did notice (while doing research)that maybe ARM has their clocking outside the design of some of their cores. I don't know if they're arguing semantics (outside vs. embedded) or not, but it will be TPL's job to show that regardless, the method (as opposed to location) design and technique of clocking is at the heart of the matter...
