Dear Sandra,

We have corresponded in the past specifically about the TiVo vs. EchoStar case. I thought you might find the following article interesting explaining how the U.S. patent system could be inching closer to an overhaul long desired by the technology industry. See “Senators Offer Sweeping Patent System Changes” and link to complete article below. Also, as you had requested the last time we spoke, I am including some information on a very important case that is taking place in the Marshall venue. This case is much bigger than the TiVo or RIM Blackberry cases combined. TPL jointly owns (see Technology Properties Limited and link below) patents which are considered to be the fundamental building blocks in almost if not every microprocessor technology used today. Industries impacted range from PC’s, Cameras, Medical Equipment, Automobiles, Coffee Makers, Cell Phones, Aerospace, just to name a few. TPL has already signed licensing deals with Intel, HP, AMD, Sony, Casio, Pentax, Nikon, Seiko/Epson, and Fujitsu. These companies have validated the patents TPL jointly owns with Patriot Scientific. Don’t let the Fujitsu signing confuse you. The case in Marshall is TPL vs. Fujitsu Limited et all. Fujitsu was originally a defendant in the law suit but than decided to back out and sign a deal. The remaining defendants in this case are Matsushita Electrical Industrial Company, Panasonic Corp, JVC Corporation, and NEC Corporation. Anyways, just wanted to keep my promise and send you any new information as I found it. I look forward to reading about this case @ the MarshallNewsMessenger.com in the months to come. Take care.

Craig
